45 ft Roberts Charter

A mono with a patented diving platform - you won't see one of these again soon! She has a catergory A, offshore and foreign going certification and also current 2008 safety certificate and is ready for sea as at Jan 2008.

Remarks:
She has a category A offshore and foreign going certification and also current 2008 safety certificate, and is ready for sea as at 2008. Complete refit in 2007 and now just returned from Madagascar, Mayotte, and North Mozambique and endured very heavy weather. A few years ago she survived extreme weather with 50ft + swells without damage.

Size:
4ft + .8m extended bumkin with fold down diving platform right to the water level. Easy one handed operation. There are 2 gates that can be closed. They are easily dismantled.

Design:
Roberts Charter type 45ft. She was launched in 1989 and completed some years later. GRP Beautiful interior with Iroko finishes, Parmafin floor & yellow wood from 120 yr old house. Also rare Thai Teak. 100 lockers stowage.. Insulated with 20mm Eurothane foam

Material:
GRP. Robustly built. No osmosis as the hull was completely re-surfaced an as osmosis preventative at a cost of R70 000 in July 2007 during her major refit (invoices available). Coppercoat antifouling at a cost of R22000. Rudder completely rebuilt

Accommodation:
She sleeps 8; 2 double in each aft cabin, each having its own en-suite shower, basin and heads and crafted wood lockers. Midships: 2 private cabins , one either side with upper and lower bunks. Each cabin easily converts to two wide doubles. There is a partiton between these to cabins which can be removed, making one large cabin. It has a shower heads and basin. There is also a pilot berth with T.V aerial, drinks cabinet in beautifully crafted wood finishes. Teak and Holly sideboards, 3 inspection hatches to engine and sea cocks and generator. No need to lift floorboards to inspect.

Sails:
Large Genoa, light spare genoa, Mainsail + spare mainsail, trisail, staysail, storm jib spinnaker, stackpack, lazy jacks, profurl genoa rollerfurler

Mast:
Silver anodized mast, boom and spinnaker pole by Bellams Masts. Double spreader rig with hinged spreaders, mast steps to the top,, strong boombrake, boomvang.

Rigging:
Foretopmast stay 1x19x10m, forestay with 3x1 adjustable screw 11x19x8mm cap shrouds 2x19x8, intermediate shrouds 2x1x19x8mm, lower shrouds 4x1x19x8mm, running backstays with 4 to 1 tackles 2x1x19x8mm, standing backstays 1x19x10 with mechanical tensioner and HF insulators, all gear is Ronstan rigging, screws and toggles. Stainless steel sissy bars, profurller furling, vang tackle, spare topping lift, 3 boat hooks, New mooring ropes and P.E bow coil spring.

Winches:
Total 10. cockpit; 1 electric Anderson 46 (can handle all sheets into cockpit. Use your finge to trim the sails!) + 2 huge primary Enkes, 32’s + 2 secondary Enkes, on mast 4x2 speed Enkes, windlass Loftrans Tigres, 70 Met chain on 73m plaited rode. Aft there is an anchoring facility with spurling pipe thorugh deck, feeding some chain onto which is plaited 70 Met chain. 5 anchors including 1 plough, 1 CQR, 1 Bruce, 1 Danforth + 1 large 45 KG Danforth. Twin stemhead chain rollers anchor chain claw and snubber. On deck – No2 Lewmar swivel blocks for staysail/trisail on tracks wih cars, 2 Lewmar erect blocks strong pad eyes. Stainless steel sheet belaying cleats, 6 strong anodised moring cleats with fairlead through toerail.

Engine:
Toyota 65HP, 2L TC, imported; completely reconditioned. Marinised by renouned Collin Murdock in 2007. New shaft and prop 17x14, 600L fuel capacity, 600 Litre water capacity. Jabsco engine driven emergency bilge pump – reconditioned Dec 2007. Automatic bilge pump with alarm if primary auto bilge pump fails. Smoke breathing apparatus and smoke detector + reserve CO2 cylinder.

Tools:
Propshaft puller, bolt cutters + MANY MORE

Galley:
2 burner stove with oven and grill, 220v fridge + large freezer, microwave, cabin heater. Footpump and autofresh and saltwater pump. Twin tubs, 220v electric geyser

Electronics:
Lombardini diesel Generator 6LD400 3.5KVA completely overhauled. Aerogen wind charger, 2 x 75w solar panels, 2 x 220v battery charging sysytems. 1) inverter 1600w 70 Vitron-Pheonix inverter/charger 2) 300w Tes for charging small units – cell phones, torch batteries etc. one step regulator, Link 10meter , Steca Solarix Jota battery manager, 3 separate battery banks, Deltec Voyager 105A/H EA, M27F, Total 8 batteries. 220v Ariston hot water geyser, TV aerial, mounted 100 MET man overboard safety line reel and winding handle. Strobe light at masthead, 2 x torch battery chargers, 2 Radar relectors

General:
Rubber dck – reconditioned, 3.1m hard bottom which planes with 15HP Yamaha. It has wheels for hauling. Davits on stern and separate pully for outboard, Gas braai, unique diving platform on Bumkin that folds down to water level, boarding ladder, Watermaker Pur, collapsible spray dodger, Shadecloth awning, rain tent that fits over hatch, 60L Jerry cans, small Para anchor.
